I arrived at Temple College in January 2022 to oversee the college’s Recruitment and Marketing efforts. In the following months, we launched “Your Community’s College,” a system-wide branding and visibility campaign with a major focus on recruitment.

We committed to engaging more in the community, specifically the high schools. We made progress in breaking down silos by launching a Recruitment Task Force and increasing communications with the many teams who were out recruiting for their various areas. As our team grew, we were able to increase outreach, as well as bring in thousands of students to our campus via numerous new and revitalized events, including a renewed focus on the campus tour experience.

Recruitment has become a campuswide effort, with many teams engaged in reaching out to students and supporting them through every process.

I cannot (nor would I ever) take sole credit for this growth. This is the result of a culture change across campus, a renewed focus on student recruitment and support. I do believe, however, that the efforts of the Marketing and Community Engagement teams I lead provided a spark that continues to build among teams throughout the college.
